Cooking With Honey Recipe Contest

Family Honey

Judy Endicott Manzone’s new book, Family Honey, is filled with inspiring stories and delicious honey recipes. As the third of five generations of long-lived beekeepers, Judy suspects that cooking with honey is the secret to longevity! Let Judy's honey recipes inspire your own kitchen magic. Submit your original honey recipe to the Cooking with Honey Recipe Contest.

HOW TO ENTER:

All submissions must be sent by email as PDF attachment or as text in the body of the email to
CookingWithHoney@gmail.com. Please do not send hardcopy entries as these will not be judged or returned. Entries to include a complete list of ingredients, and instructions for preparing the recipe, a photo of your completed dish (optional but recommended, jpgs preferred).

Your entry must also include:

  • Address
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • A link to your personal Facebook page (if you have one)

We are pleased to announce our distinguish panel of judges: Judy Endicott Manzone, the author of Family Honey: Five Generations of Beekeeping, and chefs Jonathan Korsen and Kyle Vermeulen from La Prima Food Group, one of the Washington, DC area’s premier caterers.

Chef Jon Korsen holds a BA from Hunter College and is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America (CIA). Jon comes to La Prima from ILCREATIONS, Georgia Brown’s and The Breakers. He has also worked at Windows on the World and the White House. He works with tireless drive and a true dedication to providing excellence in all his dishes. Jon loves European travel and, while not fluent in any language other than English, he can understand enough to cook in French, Spanish and Czech kitchens.

Chef Kyle Vermeulen is a New York Native and Baltimore International Culinary Institute graduate. Technique and passion cultivated from diverse experiences in New Orleans, Palm Beach and St. Thomas positioned Kyle for his latest three Executive Chef roles at 3Citron, A La Carte Catering, and now at La Prima. Kyle views cooking as an art, and believes that food is meant to stimulate on many levels.

Cooking with Honey is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia (U.S.), age 21 or older at time of entry. Void where prohibited by law. All federal, local and state regulations apply. Odds of winning will depend on the number of eligible entries received. Contest begins June 8, 2011 12:01:00 AM ET and ends December 31, 2011 11:59:59 PM ET. Only one individual may submit an entry at one time and only one entry for a specific named recipe will be eligible. Winners will be notified by email and their names will be announced on January 31, 2012. By submitting recipes, contestants warranty that to the best of their knowledge this is their original recipe. Decision of the judges is final. Duplicate entries for the same recipe are not allowed. By submitting a recipe you agree to allow the recipe to be displayed wherever Family Honey is being promoted and agree to having your name appear as the contest winner.
